South Dakota

🇨🇴 Ayer cruzamos South Dakota. Total fueron más de 680 kilómetros sobre la I-90, que es más o menos una línea recta. Es un gran contraste con las áreas metropolitanas del oriente. Desde el cruce del río Missouri en adelante es pradera y lomas. Se ve ganado y molinos de producción de electricidad eólica. El tráfico fluye rápidamente y sin problemas. Es un tramo recomendable para el que disfruta de paisajes.

Casi desde el principio del viaje, hace un mes, hemos estado llevando cuenta de las placas que encontramos de cada estado. Si bien no creemos que vayamos a encontrar la de Hawaii hoy vimos la de Washington y la de Kansas, que nos hacían falta.

Llegamos a Rapid City y caminamos por el centro. En cada esquina hay una estatua de cada presidente de los Estados Unidos y hay un callejón con muchos murales. Comimos, fuimos a la piscina del hotel y nos fuimos a dormir más o menos temprano para estar listos para Mount Rushmore.

🇺🇸 Yesterday we crossed South Dakota. In all it was over 400 miles on I-90, which is pretty much a straight line. It’s a great contrast with the eastern metropolitan areas. From the Missouri River on it’s prairie and hills. You can see cattle and windmills that generate electricity. Traffic flows quickly and without trouble. It’s a stretch recommended for anyone who enjoys scenic drives.

Almost since the start of the trip, about a month ago, we’ve tracked the license plates we’ve found from each state. We’re not hopeful to be able to find Hawaii but today we saw Washington and Kansas, which we were missing.

We arrived at Rapid City and walked around downtonw. In each corner there is a statue of a president of the United States, and there’s an alley full of murals. We had dinner, went to the pool and then to bed more or less early to be ready for Mount Rushmore.
